Zcash has introduced Zillions, a browser-based wallet built on Anoma, whose launch features include transparent and shielded transfers, multi-account management, and support for Ledger hardware wallets.
On October 27, the official Zcash account promoted the new wallet, inviting users to explore its features and share feedback. In its launch article, Zillions described a browser application created for people with no prior experience with Zcash, with account synchronization and transaction confirmation handled through the wallet’s software.
“Today we are launching Zillions — a new approach to Zcash wallet design that puts the interests of everyday users first,” the team wrote.
The announcement presents two interconnected products. Users open the wallet application through a browser, while the Zillions Keychain extension allows them to create, import, and manage multiple Zcash accounts or seed phrases. Once connected, the extension lets users switch between accounts within the application.
Zillions separates the browser application from the account management extension.
In the article dedicated to the application’s launch, the development team states that the wallet application itself requires no installation. Chrome, Firefox, and Brave are listed among the supported browsers, along with other popular Chromium-based browsers.
The project description says the browser sandbox is part of its security system, and users do not need to grant root access or administrator rights on their devices. Zillions claims its application can run without access to local files or control over the rest of the device.
According to the announcement, the Keychain extension provides account management capabilities, including creating new keys, importing existing keys, and connecting a hardware wallet. The development team says users can manage multiple accounts or seed phrases through this extension while using the same browser application.
Zillions said hardware support starts with Ledger devices. Users access the corresponding accounts through the wallet interface and verify outgoing transactions on their hardware device before signing.
Keystone support was announced for the following week. In the launch article, this integration is presented as an upcoming addition, while Ledger compatibility is described as available from the very first version.
