The game Battle For Giostone has been relaunched. The MOBA game in a 5-on-5 format launched on 18 October 2026 and is now playable directly in the browser on PC and mobile devices. Players do not need a launcher or to download anything.
Players start by creating their own hero and can jump straight into matches. The launch took place three days later than the studio had promised. To compensate for the delay, M-Tech Entertainment added a two-week launch season with prizes for players ranking high on the leaderboard.
The launch season will run for two weeks, until 1 November 2026. The prize pool is $5000 in GBFG tokens, which will be split equally between the two servers. Players from the EU and Southeast Asia will each receive $2500 for placing in the top -100.
Rank distribution is based on MMR. As the studio puts it:
"Win ranked matches and your rating goes up; lose and it goes down."
To participate, players must play at least 10 ranked matches on the EU or SEA servers within two weeks. Until they reach 10 ranked matches, players remain "unranked." Any heroes players own can compete, including the free hero every player receives upon registration.
Payouts are the same on both servers. First place pays $400, second place $250, and third place $150. Places 4 and 5 each pay $100, places 6 through 10 pay $60 each, and places 11 through 20 pay $35 each. Players placing 21 through 50 receive $15 each, and places 51 through 100 pay $8 each. All prizes are paid in GBFG after the two-week season ends.
GBFG is the in-game currency. Winning a ranked match pays 250 GBFG, and winning an unranked match pays 25 GBFG. No payout is made for a loss.
The BFG token has not launched yet. On 18 October, the studio published its tokenomics, which states a total supply of 150 000 000 BFG. After BFG launches, GBFG holders will be able to exchange their tokens for BFG. The team stated that exchange details will be announced in advance.
Early backers will receive their share. Holders of the original BFG tokens will receive the same amount of new BFG. Genesis Heroes holders will get back all the Genesis Heroes they own. On the Hero marketplace, sellers receive 95% of each sale.
From pre-alpha to a complete rebuild
The project has been around for several years. The original BFG token launched in October 2022 as part of an IEO on Avalaunch, a launchpad for the Avalanche ecosystem. The game reached pre-alpha stage in November 2022.
In the following months, the team ran the Primal Giostone league, initially announced with a prize pool of $20000. In May 2023, the NFT Genesis Hero collection was released. Later alpha versions required downloading a launcher.
On 11 September 2026, M-Tech announced the game's return. The studio said it was rebuilding Battle For Giostone "from scratch, for the browser." Just over five weeks later, the new version is already available.
