World of ClaudeCraft releases major update 0.45.0

World of ClaudeCraft has released version 0.45.0, the largest update in the history of the classic browser MMO. All characters and weapons have received a new look, Eastbrook and Mirefen have been rebuilt, and an Adventurers’ Guild Hall has appeared in Highwatch. To celebrate the update, all existing characters received a free appearance redesign, and all lockouts for normal and heroic dungeons and raids have been reset.

This update also adds a new world boss in Mirefen, reworks five dungeons, and introduces a “Groups” window that makes it easier to find a suitable group.

To celebrate the update, every existing character receives one free appearance bonus. Players can use it to change their character’s look in line with the new visual changes.

All restrictions on completing normal and heroic dungeons and raids have also been reset, so players can immediately run their favorite instances again. Progress on world bosses and weekly quests remains unchanged, so no one will lose the progress they made this week.

The visual update touches the entire world. In Eastbrook, Fenbridge, Highwatch, and Mirefen, buildings painted in the new style can now be seen. Mirefen has gained a tavern players can walk through and new mudfin huts.

In Highwatch, the new Lantern Hall serves as the Adventurers’ Guild building. The map now displays ferry ports and vessel schedules, helping players plan their routes. The team has also implemented Studio, its own map editor, and used it to publish the rebuilt maps of Eastbrook and Mirefen.

Group content has received a major update. The bosses in the Wastes, the Sunken Bastion, the Flooded Temple, and Wildheart Cove have been reworked and now have new character models. This also applies to the fights with Morten, Korgat, Velhar, Korzul, and the Great Zavrian. The fights with Selte and Zulgar have also been reworked, and now ghosts return to the arena of the last boss they defeated.

Every five-player dungeon now comes with a boss guide. Heroic dungeons have received new health values, and normal dungeons now feature mini-bosses. The Hollow Crypt has changes to its heroic mode, with the boss room closing after 10 seconds, and the Hydra Pool in the Flooded Temple is now considered a full boss.

New world entrances lead into the Bastion, the Crypt, the Temple, and Wildheart, including the Jaguar’s Maw. Heroic Marks are now a separate currency, and the Hellfire Quiver appears as loot in the Varkhul Crucible in heroic mode.

A new world boss has also appeared in Mirefen, giving groups a new reason to head into the swamp. The new “Groups” window makes it easier to form a party for these battles.

The patch also brings changes for PvP players. Capturing in “King of the Hill” now takes 30 seconds, PvP resurrection takes 15 seconds, and honor points for “King of the Hill” are awarded at a fixed rate. World quests award 150 honor points twice a day. World PvP rewards now target marked players for kill streaks, and the kill feed posts event information to Discord.

Several classes have received balance changes. Warriors gained “Iron Resolve,” which creates a shield equal to 20% of maximum health. Druids, Rogues, Hunters, and Shamans have also received balance adjustments, and Druids got a new “Spore Healer” form.

Collectors have new items to find as well. The Nightwing Chimera has joined the mount list, along with the Wobbles slime and the updated Drakeclaw raptor. Flicker and Glimmer have appeared as a pair of fire sprite companions.

The Gearscore is now displayed on the character sheet and in the inspect window. A material bank with ten tiers has been added, and weekly rewards from the bank now include Crucible cores. Monster health and damage now scale with level, and players who have earned 10 million lifetime experience receive the Titan title.

The release also includes numerous UI, rendering, and performance fixes, including memory optimization on iOS. The full changelog is available on the game’s release page on GitHub.

What is World of ClaudeCraft?

World of ClaudeCraft is a free-to-play MMORPG in the classic style, developed by Levy Street studio. It recreates the atmosphere of early online RPGs with an authoritative server and persistent characters in a shared world. The game runs in the browser without any downloads and is also available as a PC application and mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Players can choose from nine classic classes: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock, and Druid. Each class has its own abilities, resources, and spell ranks. The story begins in Eastbrook Vale and follows the plot of the Grave Summoners north through the Mirefen Swamp and into Thornpeak Heights, spanning three zones and about 60 quests.

Group play is an important part of the gameplay. Five-player elite dungeons include the “Hollow Crypt,” the “Sunken Bastion,” the “Flooded Temple,” and the final dungeon, the “Grave Dragon Sanctum,” with multi-phase bosses and loot specific to each class. Players can form groups of five, trade items, fight each other in duels, and compete in the Ashen Coliseum — a ranked 1v1 arena with a live Elo rating. The combat system follows classic formulas, from armor-based damage reduction to rage conversion.

The project is fully open source. Its code is publicly available on GitHub, and community contributions are welcome. Players who link their GitHub account can earn a developer badge for merged pull requests. The game supports more than 20 languages and is free to play, with a shop for additional items.

On the Web3 side, players can verify a Solana wallet to display a WOC holder badge and their balance on their player card. This requires no transactions or SOL, and a wallet is not needed to play.
