Injective has launched a perpetual futures market tracking the rental prices of five Nvidia graphics processing units, offering leverage of up to 10x against its new Super Intelligence Compute Index.
In its October 26 announcement, Injective said the SICI market is live on mainnet, uses USDC as margin, and can be integrated into applications across its entire ecosystem. London-based capital markets firm LO:TECH compiles and prices the benchmark using compute rental listings from relevant platforms.
The company describes the product as a way for traders to take positions based on the value of compute, and for AI developers and infrastructure providers to hedge their risks. In its statement, it points to rising rental payments as a risk for developers and falling rental income as a risk for hardware providers.
In the same statement, Injective announced plans to introduce another blockchain-based financial product in the coming days, noting that the SICI perpetual is already available for integration into the ecosystem.
SICI combines five Nvidia GPU rental markets
According to the announcement, the benchmark allocates 40% of the weight among graphics cards as follows: Nvidia H100 SXM 80GB, B200 at 25%, and H200 at 15%. The remaining 10% is split between the A100 SXM 80GB and the GeForce RTX 4090.
Injective’s description says the basket includes hardware used for large-scale AI training, model deployment, fine-tuning, and low-cost inference. The company includes the consumer-grade RTX 4090 card because developers rent these cards to run open-source models and smaller AI workloads.
The announcement states that each component retains its stated weight within a version of the methodology. A change to the methodology would result in a separate version being created alongside the existing data series, with the historical calculations of the current index remaining unchanged.
The product is a continuation of Injective’s earlier H100 rental-rate contract. As previously reported, the network launched its Nvidia GPU derivatives market in August 2025 as part of a partnership with Squaretower.
For the earlier version of the product, Squaretower provided hourly updates on H100 rental prices obtained from compute providers. The initial contract announcement described trading tied to GPU rental rates, with Squaretower accessible through the Helix decentralized exchange.
Rental listings form a seven-day index average
According to Injective, for SICI, LO:TECH collects reference prices in dollars per GPU-hour from compute platforms, combining on-demand and spot offerings. Each platform is counted once per chip, and the data undergoes validity and outlier checks before entering the calculation.
Under the methodology, the base price of each GPU is rebased to 100 at the July 22, 2026 daily price. LO:TECH then combines the five normalized component levels using the specified weights, after which it publishes the seven-day average of the hourly basket.
As a result, according to the announcement, SICI quotes are expressed in index points, while the underlying figures are in hourly rental prices. LO:TECH calculates readings every hour in UTC and uses the 19:00 UTC reading as the daily fixing.
Injective describes the calculation as reproducible from archived data, stating that “any reading can be generated from archived data with an identical result.” The announcement lists compute platforms as the source category for the rental data.
Among its other products, the network has provided exposure to both AI companies and compute infrastructure. Injective dates the launch of its AIX perpetual index to January 2025, describing a basket that combines AI-related tokens with shares of companies such as Nvidia and TSMC.
