Token Utility

ARC is the native token of the Arc network, whose value grows as a participant’s engagement with the economic operating system deepens. Active token holders/stakers who transact, build, and operate platforms receive numerous benefits, such as reduced gas costs, lower platform service fees, greater governance weight, and access to the ecosystem. The deeper the participation, the more ARC delivers to the holder.

1. Staking

A permissioned set of validators produces blocks and secures the network. The broader token-holder community participates by staking ARC, retaining custody rights while distributing the economic weight that influences the state of the network and the allocation of rewards. Rewards flow from two sources: issuance funded through inflation, and fee revenue converted into ARC at the protocol level. Validators take a commission for their operational work. The remainder is passed to stakers in proportion to their stake.

2. Economic Security and the Permissions System

Arc’s security model combines two layers. The permissioned validator set provides the identity layer. It ensures that every operator is known, committed to minimum standards, and legally accountable. Staking ARC provides the economic layer. Staking determines each validator’s weight in leader selection, the flow of rewards, and what it stands to lose for poor performance and misconduct.

This interplay is designed to deepen over time. In early stages, permissions governance is performed off-chain and becomes public as validators join the network. As the network matures, functions such as validator performance scoring, qualification thresholds, and access controls may gradually move on-chain, coordinated through ARC staking and on-chain data, while preserving the identity and accountability guarantees that the permissions system provides.

3. Platform-Level Utility

Arc is designed as a unified platform that will expand over time, spanning core infrastructure, assets, protocol services, developer kits, and applications. ARC’s utility extends across the entire stack.

At the base layer, participants who stake ARC may gain access to preferential transaction fees relative to others. Stakers receive partial or full gas subsidies, lowering the cost of active participation. These mechanisms create a direct economic incentive to hold ARC in proportion to transaction volume.

ARC token utility

At the core layer, ARC holders and stakers may be eligible for preferential access and reduced fees to services across various ecosystem partners, including services such as Circle’s cross-chain transfer operations, stablecoin issuance and redemption, payment infrastructure, and developer tooling. Additional services may emerge over time, delivering tangible economic benefits to ARC holders.

In practice, the value of ARC to a participant increases as their engagement with the economic operating system deepens. A holder who stakes earns from network activity. A staker who transacts pays less. A developer deploying applications on the platform may gain access to ecosystem programs, grants, and distributions. An institution integrating at every layer of the platform (payments, settlement, lending, foreign exchange) benefits from holding ARC at each level. The participant-asset relationship scales alongside the participant-platform relationship.

What Is the Arc Blockchain?

Arc is a purpose-built, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that pushes the boundaries of stablecoin-based financial operations and tokenization. It uses the USDC stablecoin as its native gas token, provides deterministic settlement finality, opt-in privacy, and a stable transaction fee architecture.

Optimized for stablecoin use cases such as global payments, foreign exchange, and capital markets, Arc serves as the foundational settlement layer for programmable money on the internet.

Token Distribution

Arc tokenomics: ARC token distribution

The allocation principle for the total supply of 10,000,000,000 ARC is as follows:

ShareCategoryAmountDescription
60%Ecosystem6,000,000,000This is the largest token allocation category, encompassing token sales, developer grants, network growth programs, and broader participation mechanisms. The ecosystem token allocation reflects a foundational commitment: the majority of ARC will be distributed to the participants who grow, use, and contribute to the network.
25%Circle2,500,000,000This allocation reflects Circle’s role as protocol developer and supports Circle’s ongoing activity in the network. It ensures that Circle retains a meaningful economic alignment with the network’s long-term success, by participating directly in staking and governance, as well as in the administration of ecosystem programs.
15%Long-Term Reserve1,500,000,000The Long-Term Reserve exists to provide long-term sustainability, strategic flexibility, and economic stabilization. It provides the network with a contingency buffer — a resource that can be used to correct market imbalances, fund critical infrastructure, or maintain network stability during periods of stress.
